I made these substitutions using what I had and it came out great:
soymilk for dairy milk
dried red chilies for green
tomato paste for fresh
fresh parsley for coriander leaves
plus mustard seeds

It was delicious!

This recipe is the best I ever tried. My moong daal turned out so tasty. I used double amount of milk.

I am not a regular cook and in fact dont particularly enjoy cooking, so I usually pick easy recipes when I do cook.

Hi Shriya,
Thanks for the great recipe. I have tried it twice and it came out very well…But since the last two times, whenever I try to make it, the milk tends to break(meaning becomes like paneer)…Can you tell me where I am going wrong..Thanks.
