Morkuzhambu

Ingredients:

  • Fresh curd - 4 cups
  • coconut - 1 cup
  • Green chilly - 2
  • Channa dal - 1 tbsp
  • Toor dal - 1 tbsp
  • raw rice - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1/2 tbsp
  • Any of the vegetables listed - colocasia, okra, chayote, drumstick (cook the vegetable)
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak toor dall, channa dal, rice, cumin seeds, coriander seeds in water for half an hour
  2. Drain the water and add coconut and green chillies to them and grind them to make a paste
  3. Whip curd using hand mixer to make it a free flowing liquid. Don’t whip it heavily.
  4. Now add the ground paste to the curd, salt and cooked vegetables
  5. Heat it by stirring frequently
  6. Don’t allow it to boil. Remove from heat before it starts boiling.

:) Serve hot with white rice and vegetable curry

    with okra morkuzhambhu will taste excellent. the perfect combination for morkuzhambhu would be rice and pickle.
    okra should be fried before adding to kuzhambhu.
