Spinach dhal is one of favorite and the potato curry is very nice side dish for it. Nice pictures.

Here’s where I confess my sometimes-unfamiliarity with desi food terms. What is toor daal? Is it the little, oval, yellow ones? I do have a gorgeous bunch of fresh spinach and we are trying to cut back on the meat so we may have a winner in this dish. Now if only I could figure out this toor business
