Wheat Halwa

Ingredients

  • Ghee: 3/4 cup
  • Wheat Flour: 1 cup
  • Milk: 2 cups
  • Rose Color or saffron: A dash
  • Sugar: 2 1/2 cups
  • Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder: 1/2 tsp
  • Cashews: 8 nos

Preparation

  1. Roast the wheat flour in ghee at medium heat.
  2. Take a bowl with 2 cups of milk and add the Elaichi powder and rose powder in it.
  3. And add the above mixture into the roasted wheat flour and mix to blend.
  4. Add sugar before the consistency gets too thick and keep stirring .
  5. Stir frequently to avoid burning.
  6. When it becomes thick like pudding transfer to a ghee coated tray.
  7. Garnish with cashew slivers.

    We prepared the halwa using the recipe and the halwa turned out very sweet. We felt using 1-11/2 cup of sugar would provide necessary sweetness and lets you enjoy the halwa.
