Fortune cooking - It’s been a month since we started the contest and days have been running so fast and it has come to an end now. We are so thrilled to see your encouragement and participation with wonderful entries. As this is the first contest we have hosted, we are quiet elated with your entries and look forward to announcing the results. We have received 32 recipes in total.
We personally thank each and every friend who have submitted their recipe for this contest and encouraged us to continue conducting more and more interesting contests in our website. It’s a pleasure rounding up all your recipes here with the beautiful pictures and the links to your posts.
The winners of the contest will be announced on June 5, 2008. Winners will be chosen by a lucky draw at Random.org.
First prize will be a beautiful jewel set worth $25 sponsored by Lakshaya.com - Fashion in a click

I am a true blue piscean and from what I know, I believe that Pisceans have at least one characteristic from each of the other Zodiac signs. So its always easy for us to move with people since we have at least one similarity with the other person.

- Kelly H submitted crab Pasta salad and here is the recipe for that
Recipe Ingredients:- 12 oz uncooked tri-color spiral pasta
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 2 tomatoes chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh chives
- 8 oz imitation crab meat
- 2 cups balsamic vinaigrette
Cooking Directions:
- Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain and rinse.
- In a large bowl combine the broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, chives, crabmeat and pasta. Pour entire bottle of oil and vinegar salad dressing over all and toss to coat.

Scorpio(my hubbys sign) as I love both fish and chicken. Since this month has all been about me, I thought I would honour the man I married . - Asha of Aromahope send her Gobi Aloo Tamatar Masala recipe To fortune cooking. She chose cancer sign with cauliflower.

- Rupali jain of northkirasoise send her kathi roll recipe to the contest. She chose Aquarius sign which is her close friend’s sign and she is dedicating this recipe to her.

- Lothi of NaturalRemediesAtHome.com submitted her Pepper Chicken Recipe by email. Lothi is a close friend of mine and she has an excellent blog on natural remedies that can be done right at home. I like not to have to use chemicals for everything and her blog is becoming a great resource! Here’s what she had to say:
I have selected the Aries zodiac sign. I have many arian friends and my best friends are also of same zodiac sign. To say something about them is that they are very independent, very bold and a bit short tempered. I like their independent and boldness nature.
Pepper Chicken Recipe by Lothi
Ingredients:
- Chicken [Boneless] : 250 gm
- Egg white : 1
- Onion: 1 (medium)
- Black Pepper powder : 2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder : 1 tbsp
- Turmeric : a pinch
- Tomato : ½ tomato
- Garlic &Ginger : 1tbsp (finely chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
- Curry leaf : 6 to 8
- Coriander leaves : few
- Green chilli’s: 5 0r 6
- Lemon: few drops
- Salt : required to taste
Method:
- Marinate the chicken with black pepper, ginger garlic paste, egg and salt for 3 hrs.
- Once the chicken is marinated deep fry the chicken. Keep the deep fry chicken aside separately and the chicken should be very tender.
- Take another pan and heat the oil and sauté the onion until it turns to golden brown. Add the curry leaf, finely chopped ginger and garlic pieces. Stir for a while until the onion turns to golden brown.
- Now add the chicken stir well so that it gets mixed with the onion. Stir for 5 minutes.
- Then add a pinch of turmeric, black pepper powder, red chilli powder. Mix well with the chicken. Add the green chilli and allow the chicken to cook for a while.
- Add some very finely chopped coriander leaf and chopped tomato’s . Mix well and allow it to cook with a covered lid for 10 minutes.
- Again add some curry leaf and mix well with the chicken and squeeze some lemon juice. Cook for 3 minutes and then ready to serve.

This is an excellent recipe choice and reminds so much of Spring. Simple yet very healthy ingredient of all - Greens. - Shri of Ecouter has submitted her Tomato Kurma Recipe.
Shri has been cooking for 10 months after getting married and this is her entry to our contest. And she is good friend of ours and nithu tasted her food. Shri is a very good cook

Tactless and restless(link) - Sajana, a friend of us has submitted Beef Chilly for Fortune Cooking. Here is the Recipe for that:
Ingredients
- Beef - 1/2kg - slice the beef into thin long pieces
- Garlic pods - 5 nos
- Green chillies - 8 nos
- Soya sauce - 2 tbsp
- pepper powder - 2 tsp
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Chicken stock cube - 1 no
- Spring onions(chopped) - 2 tbsp
- capsicum(sliced pieces) - 1/4 cup
- Cornflour - 2 tbsp
- Egg - 1 no
Method:
- Mix together 1 tbsp of soya sauce, 1 tsp pepper powder, 1 egg and enough cornflour. Marinate the beef with the above mixture for atleast 1/2 hour.
- Heat enough oil for deep frying. Deep fry beef until golden brown and drain the excess oil.
- Make a paste of garlic and chillies by grinding.
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the chilly-garlic paste slightly on medium heat. Dont make it brown.
- Dissolve the chicken stock cube in one cup of boiling water and add it to the above mix.
- Add the remaining pepper powder, soya sauce and sugar, mix well and bring to boil.
- Add the fried beef pieces to the above mixture.
- Boil this till the gravy thickens.
- Fry the cut capsicum and chopped spring onions separately in a little oil and add it to this mixture and mix well. (Note - add soya sauce as per taste. Soya sauce and stock provides salt required for the dish.)
- Serve hot with chapatti/Paratha.
