Bread Basket Chaat

If you want to try some easy snack, you can try this out. Thanks to my friend Jayanthi for this easy and tasty recipe. All we need is just bread and we can easily prepare this Bread basket chaat for any number of people in half an hour.

Time of Preparation : 30 minutes


  • Bread – 20
  • Potato (large) – 1
  • Chickpeas – 3 tbsp (optional)
  • Onions – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
  • Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Green chutney – 1/2 cup
  • Sweet chutney – 1/2 cup
  • Sev – 3 tbsp (optional)
  • Coriander – 3 tbsp (chopped)

Method of Preparation:

  1. Soak the chickpeas in hot water for 3 hours and pressure cook it along with little salt.
  2. Boil the potato and mash it . Add little salt to it.
  3. Cut the edges of the breads. Spray oil in the muffin pans and keep the breads in the muffin pan.
  4. Preheat the oven to 300 F and keep the pan inside.
  5. Keep them for 20 minutes. The breads will turn to golden brown and they will be crispy.
  6. Now the baskets are ready.
  7. Mix the red chilli powder and chaat masala with onions and tomatoes.
  8. In the bread basket, keep 1/2 tsp of potato, 3 chickpeas, onion tomato mix, green chutney, sweet chutney, coriander and sev.
  9. Bread basket chaat is ready.


  • You can use any filling for the basket.
  • you can add any kind of sprouts or even yogurt.
  • This basket can be stored in an airtight container for 7 to 10 days.
