Sugar Cookies

Sugar cookies are the easiest to make and will be light to eat. I made these cookies for thanksgiving and everyone liked these cookies. If we have different shapes of cookie moldings, we can make these cookies in different shapes.

Time of Preparation : 40 minutes
No of cookies : 50

Ingredients:

  • Butter (Room temperature) – 1 Cup
  • White sugar – 1 1/2 cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Vanilla Extract – 2 tsp
  • All purpose flour – 2 3/4 cup
  • Baking soda – 1 tsp
  • Baking powder – 1/2 tsp

Method of Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, mix the all purpose flour, baking soda and baking powder and keep it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
  4. Add the flour mixture little by little and beat to make a smooth dough.
  5. Grease the baking tray or place a parchment paper on the baking tray.
  6. Take a spoonful of the dough and place on the parchment paper with 2 inches apart.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375 F and bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges become golden brown.
  8. In 5 minutes, remove them and keep them in a wire rack.
  9. After 40 minutes store them in an airtight container.
