Stuffed Bread

First I thought of making regular sandwich bread. Then I wanted to have something little spicy. I got the idea of making this stuffed bread with Indian touch. I gave this to all my friends for tasting and everyone loved it. You can try this recipe with Nithu’s White Bread Recipe too.

Time of Preparation : 2 hours 10 minutes
Spice Level : 2
Yield : 1 large loaf

For Bread:

  • Bread Flour – 3 cups
  • Warm water (110 F) – 1 cup
  • Active dry yeast – 1 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 1/4 cup

For Stuffing:

  • Potato – 1
  • Carrot – 1
  • Beans – 12
  • Paneer – 1/4 cup (grated)
  • Spinach – 1/4 cup(chopped)
  • Onion – 1/2 (finely chopped)
  • Green chillies – 4
  • Garlic – 4 cloves (finely chopped)
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1/4 tsp

Method of Preparation:
For Bread:

  1. To the warm water add the sugar and the yeast and mix well.
  2. After 10 minutes, the yeast will become like a creamy foam.
  3. Now add the salt and oil to the yeast.
  4. Then add the bread flour and mix completely.
  5. Then in a clean surface, sprinkle some flour and knead the dough by pressing hardly.
  6. Do this for 10 minutes or until the dough becomes soft.
  7. Take a wide bowl and spray some oil and place the dough in it.
  8. Cover it with a damp cloth and keep it inside the oven for 1 hour.
  9. The dough will be of double the height.

For Stuffing:

  1. Cut all the vegetables and boil them in the microwave by covering them for 6 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions.
  3. Fry until they become translucent and add the chopped green chillies followed by the finely chopped garlic.
  4. Now add the spinach followed by the boiled vegetables and fry until they all become soft.
  5. Add the red chilli powder followed by the coriander powder and garam masala.
  6. Then add the grated paneer and mix well.
  7. The Stuffing is ready. We can make the stuffing in the 1 hour rising time of the bread dough.

Preparation of the Stuffed bread:

  1. Press the dough and roll it in a rectangle shape (as thin as possible).
  2. We can use the dough for single loaf or we can divide according to the size we want.
  3. In the center of the dough place the stuffing and slit the both sides symmetrically.
  4. Cover the slit sides like cross till the end.
  5. Now preheat the oven to 400 F and bake the loaf for 30 minutes o r until it is golden brown.
  6. Veggie stuffed bread is ready.
  7. We can change the stuffing like how we want.
  8. Delicious stuffed breads are ready.


  • I actually wanted to try basic bread but suddenly I got this idea of stuffed bread.
  • So I add more sugar to the bread flour. But my husband said that it would be more tasty if the sugar level is less. So I have reduced the sugar quantity in this recipe.
  • The stuffing can be anything like meat or cheese or any veggies and greens according to our taste.
  • I have made it little thicker. But I feel if it is more thin we can enjoy the stuffing taste more.
